“Hot, Flat and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution and How It Can Renew America” by Thomas L. Friedman (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, $27.95).

A bold, incisive and vivid argument for why the U.S. needs to reorder its energy policies–NOW.  Cassandra

“24 Years of Housework…and the Place is Still a Mess – My Life in Politics”  by Pat Schroeder (Andrews McMeel, 1998)

Serious, but lighthearted, it’s an enjoyable re-read that is still timely, and gives some history and perspective on the years that have led us up to where we are today – by a woman who was chipping away at the “glass ceiling” when Hillary was still a young Republican.  Marty
